Mediation Style:

Ms. Varon's success as a mediator is based on her compassion and understanding of the emotional and psychological stress inherent in the divorce process. Her ability to re-focus the participants on their needs and the needs of their children, rather than on their wants, lends itself to a productive dialogue. With the ultimate goal set as a mutually acceptable resolution of the issues, progress is inevitable. Through the application of creative principles and discussion of alternative options, the participants are able to develop compromises in the best interest of their children and themselves.

Suggested Preparation for Mediation:

Mrs. Varon does not need participants to provide her with any documents or briefs prior to mediation. The parties should bring with them a prepared position statement, supporting documentation, including a domestic relations financial affidavit and net worth statement, and if applicable, a draft of the child support worksheet.

Successful Results:

Mrs. Varon is proud of all mediations where the participants engage in good faith efforts to resolve their disputes, understanding that the aim is come up with a settlement that both can live with, while at the same time coming to the realization that the process is not about winning but about compromise. When children are involved, Mrs. Varon believes, the focus needs to be on the best interests of the children. The best role model for children are parents who can communicate effectively and resolve disagreements in an amicable manner.

Hourly Rate Per Party for Mediation:
2-Party Case3-Party Case4-Party Case
$112.50$75.00$56.25

The cost of mediation is split equally among all parties unless otherwise agreed in writing. In most cases, your cost for mediation is simply your share of your mediator's hourly fees. See FAQ: How Much Mediation Costs.

Court-Ordered Mediation: Mrs. Varon is registered with the following mediation programs: Hobbies and Interests:

Mrs. Varon has two wonderful children and three terrific dogs. She enjoys spending quality time with her family, cherishing the conversations and experiences they share. She loves the beach and tries to get to her home away from home in Charleston whenever time permits. She finds that a walk on the beach seems to cure all ills.

Mediation Environment:

Mrs. Varon believes that a relaxed non-threatening setting is important to enable the participants to come to the table to try and work things out. Having the ability to retreat to a separate comfortable room during caucuses also promotes continuation of the process.
