Susan Raines shares her insights on domestic relations mediation at Cobb Mediation
On February 25, 2008, Susan S. Raines, Ph.D. began a two-day training session on Mediating Cases Involving Domestic Violence. This course emphasized safeguarding the participants and mediation process in cases with a history of domestic violence.

On March 3 - 7, 2008, Susan S. Raines, Ph.D. taught a 42-Hour Domestic Relations Mediation Course. In addition to the required content, this course emphasized extra role play, techniques for building a mediation practice, case screening for domestic violence, dealing with cross-cultural issues, and included intensive practice with Georgia’s new Child Support calculations.

In addition to her teaching and research Dr. Raines has mediated more than 10,000 civil and domestic disputes; is a civil and domestic mediation trainer; has designed and evaluated Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) programs for state and federal agencies; regularly facilitates public meetings; leads negotiated rulemaking processes; and is an ACR Advanced Practitioner. She was the 2006 President of the Georgia chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) and is the Editor-in-Chief of Conflict Resolution Quarterly. Dr. Raines offers mediation, facilitation, training, program design and evaluation services. Dr. Raines can be contacted at sraines@kennesaw.edu

Please check the Cobb Mediation News Section of this web site for information about upcoming training sessions at Cobb Mediation.

Please note that the fact that a training program has been approved by the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution does not imply that any particular court-annexed or court referred program must or will accept as neutrals those who have completed that program.
